Watching short documentaries is a great way to improve your English.

How to do it:

  1. Pick a topic you like - Use the video list on the right and click play.

  2. Listen carefully - Focus on pronunciation, tone, and speed. Repeat phrases to practice speaking.

  3. Use subtitles - English subtitles help connect spoken and written words.

  4. Take notes - Write down new words, phrases, or expressions, and try using them later.

  5. Pause and repeat - Stop the video at times and say the lines again for fluency.

  6. Discuss with others - Talk about the documentary with classmates or language partners.

  7. Work on pronunciation - Check how words are said and practice with online tools.

  8. Learn new vocabulary - Note any special terms and use them in your own speaking or writing.

  9. Use transcripts - If available, read along while watching to boost listening and reading skills.

  10. Set a goal - For each video, decide what you want to focus on (e.g., accent, vocabulary, listening).

  11. Watch regularly - Make this a habit to build confidence and skill.

  12. Listen to different accents - Watch videos from various English-speaking countries.

Remember: Don’t just watch - interact with the content.

  • Write a short (150-word) summary answering:

  • What was the documentary about, and what were the problems/effects or causes/solutions presented?
