In this lesson, Kru. Jaem introduces IELTS Essay Writing and welcomes new learners to the IELTS Live Online programme. IELTS Essays (Writing Task 2) is the same for both Academic and General Training modules. In this task, test-takers are presented with a point of view, argument, or problem, and they are required to write an essay in response. The essay should present a well-structured argument, express ideas logically, and use a range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.

Key points to remember for IELTS essay writing:

Time Management: Allocate your time wisely between Task 1 and Task 2. Task 2 carries more weight and is recommended to spend around 40 minutes on it.

Word Count: Task 1 usually requires at least 150 words, while Task 2 requires a minimum of 250 words.

Planning: Spend a few minutes planning your essay. Consider the structure, main ideas, and supporting details.
