In today's lesson, Kru. Jaem welcomes new students to the IELTS Live Online programme and then introduces IELTS Reading.

  1. Purpose:

    • The IELTS Academic Reading test evaluates your ability to understand and interpret academic texts. It assesses your readiness for academic study in an English-speaking environment.

  2. Format:

    • The test consists of three reading passages, each with a set of questions.

    • The passages are sourced from academic journals, magazines, books, and newspapers.

  3. Question Types:

    • You'll encounter various question types, including multiple-choice, True/False/Not Given, matching information, matching headings, sentence completion, and more.

  4. Skills Assessed:

    • The test measures your ability to read for the main idea, locate specific information, understand detailed reasoning, and deduce meaning from context.

  5. Timing:

    • The total time for the IELTS Academic Reading test is 60 minutes.

    • You are advised to spend about 20 minutes on each section.
